Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 can (15 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread pecans evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  3. Mix condensed milk, corn syrup, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over pecans.
  4. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the liquid layer.
  5. Arrange butter pats evenly over cake mix.
  6. Pour water over the entire surface.
  7. Bake for 50-55 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
