- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture.
- Fold in the chopped pecans for a nice crunch.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Drizzle honey over the top of the batter and use a knife to swirl it into the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve with extra honey butter if you like!
