  • Author: Savannah

Description

The Pimento Cheese Sandwich Masters recipe is a celebration of creamy, tangy, and savory goodness. This Southern classic features a rich pimento cheese spread nestled between slices of fresh bread, creating the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for picnics, quick lunches, or party platters!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 ounces diced pimentos, drained
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices of bread (white, wheat, or sourdough)
  • Butter, softened (for toasting, optional)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, diced pimentos, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the pimento cheese mixture generously onto four slices of bread. Top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  • (Optional) For a toasted version, butter the outer sides of the bread and grill the sandwiches in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a tangier spread, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard or a splash of pickle juice.
  • Use high-quality sharp cheddar for the best flavor.
  • Add sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon, or lettuce for extra layers of flavor and texture.
  • Leftover pimento cheese can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and used as a dip or spread.
